Peak Performance Buoyancy

One of our most popular PADI specialty courses and perhaps one of the most beneficial to new divers is the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy course. In just one day, you can gain experience under supervision and advisement comparable to 20 normal guided dives, drop the amount of weight on your belt, use less air and learn how to control your position in the water better.

During your Peak Performance Buoyancy course with Kiwidiver, you’ll use PADI’s “basic weighting guidelines” to determine the correct amount of weight you should be carrying.

Then you’ll practice the fundamentals of peak performance buoyancy during two open water dives, including the buoyancy check, fine-tuning buoyancy underwater, weight positioning for trim, streamlining and visualization.

While new divers do benefit the most from this, these are skills that can benefit any diver, particularly divers interested in underwater photography or one who has problems with sinking and rising uncontrollably.

Divers who’ve mastered the highest performance levels in buoyancy stand apart. You’ve seen them underwater. They glide effortlessly, use less air and ascend, descend or hover, almost as if by thought. They interact gently with aquatic life and affect their surroundings minimally. That could be you.
